The opening of seven seals will be followed by the sounding of seven trumpets, which in turn will lead to the outpouring of seven bowls containing the wrath of God. The events on earth that correspond to these triggers in heaven are called The Tribulation. This is a seven-year period of cataclysmic cosmic upheaval of a magnitude never seen before, or ever to be seen again. The climax of this scene occurs at a place that in Hebrew is called Har Megiddo. We transliterate the words “Armageddon.”
